Singer-songwriter Ron Young spent 14 years in Nashville writing songs for country music publishers on Music Row.

A San Antonio native, Young is a former Kerrville Folk Festival finalist. He's opened shows for Billy Joe Shaver, Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Peter Rowan, and others. Ron regularly performs in restaurants and nightclubs in San Antonio and New Braunfels, including Oma Gruene's, Casbeers, the Scenic Loop Cafe, Olmos Bharmacy, Mi Casa Tamales, and Beto's, among others.

Enthusiastic crowds everywhere love Ron's musical diversity. His broad palette ranges from Bob Dylan to Bob Wills, from Gordon Lightfoot to Hank Williams. Listeners are fast becoming fans of Ron's catchy original tunes such as "Stick a Fork In Us (Done)," a humorous ditty about divorce ; "A Long Ride," a tale of his Nashville years; and "Goin' Fishin,'" a tribute to his late father.

Sam Kindrick in Action Magazine (January 2011) had this to say about Young:
"We found Young and company playing the San Antone Cafe, and the tight harmonies, as well as the liberal range of material was most impressive."

Young has penned more than 400 songs, many of which will be included on his upcoming CD, "Under the Texas Radar."

Ron's recent Christmas song "Yuletide By the Poolside" received lots of local attention. It features legendary Texas Tornado Augie Meyers on Vox organ and spicy guitar licks from Sergio Lara.
